My Grandma said...
Now Playing: Sheri
Topic: Family History

I asked my Grandma about how women dealt with menopause when she was younger.  She told me that doctors usually gave hysterectomies to ladies that had difficult menopause.  She said it was considered an ailment, a sickness. I think that the medical community has come a long way, but still has a long way to go.  Grandma said that women did not talk about it at all.  It was a very private thing.  Many of them didn't even know about menopause.  They just didn't share about such things.  She said she had wished someone had told her about sex before her wedding night!  I truly hope this website, book, and blog will help change that.  Maybe we can all help eachother through these changes in our lives!

Thanks,

Sheri
